Fairchild Wheeler – Black Course

FAIRFIELD, CONNECTICUT

ACTIVE JOB IN PROGRESS

  • The project involves the renovation of sand bunkers on eight holes (#10 – 16 & #18) on the Black Course at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield, Connecticut. The goal is to rebuild and re-edge eighteen (18) sand bunkers at their current locations, maintaining their existing shapes. This includes:

    • Removal and Disposal: Remove old sand, existing sod, and bunker blankets, and stockpile the sand at designated locations.

    • Re-edging and Shaping: Re-establish the bunker edges at their current locations. No additional drainage lines are needed as the existing drainage will be reused.

    • Capillary Concrete Installation: Install a capillary concrete base in each bunker. The subgrade must be properly prepared to ensure functionality and durability.

    • Sanding and Sodding: Supply and place new sand and Turf Type Tall Fescue Sod around the bunkers. Each bunker is expected to require an average of 885 square feet of sand and sod coverage.

This scope of work ensures the comprehensive renovation of the specified sand bunkers, focusing on maintaining existing structures while implementing new materials and methods to enhance functionality and aesthetics.
